What is Hypertension?

Hypertension or Blood pressure is the force of blood pressing against walls of the arteries, when it is too high it raises the heart’s workload and can cause serious damage to the arteries. Overtime uncontrolled high blood pressure increases the risk of heart diseases, stroke and kidney disease.
There are two numbers which control the high blood pressure:
i. Systolic
ii. Diastolic

Stages of Hypertension


i. Normal = 120 – 80
ii. Pre-hypertension= 121-139 ----- 81-89
iii. Stage 1= 140 90
iv. Stage 2= 160 100
v. Stage 3= 180 110
vi. Stage 4= 210 120

Regular check up to ascertain your blood pressure level is advised.


There are two types of hypertension
(i) Primary high blood pressure.
(ii) Secondary high blood pressure. Various conditions and medication can lead to secondary hypertension, including:
(a) Obstructive sleep Apneas (OSA)
(b) Kidney problems
(c) Thyroid problems
(d) Adrenal gland tumors
(e) Certain defects in the blood vessel you born with (congenital).
(f) Illegal drugs such as some cocaine and amphetamines, alcohol abuse.

THE CAUSES OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE


i. Smoking.
ii. Stress.
iii. Genetic.
iv. Excessive salt in the diet.
v. Being overweight or obese

REMEDIE TO BLOOD PRESSURE

i. Maintain weight loss regular.
ii. Regular exercise.
iii. Sodium intake reduction.
iv. Alcohol intake reduction.
v. Reduction of carbohydrate consumption.

HERBS FOR BLOOD PRESSURE

1. Hawthorn: Hawthorn is efficient and capable of opening the coronary arteries and increase heart pumping force it also evident in eliminating some type of heart rhyme disturbances and may help limit the amount of cholesterol on the arteries walls. Hawthorn, Garlic, Blueberries
2. Cat’s claw:
1 to 2 teaspoons of cat’s claw bark dried.
One to half cup of water (cold) Honey or lemon.
Broccoli, Tumeric, Cinnamon
